Kiana — this is the name my parents gave me on January 30, 2010. In African contexts, it stands for youthful strength. The second-to-last day of January, a day on which a person was born who wants to amaze people with their art—whether through a painting, a drawing, something made from clay, or any other form of creative expression. I was created with a love for detail, which represents both a great strength and, at the same time, a small weakness. In my work and in my life in general, music is a powerful driving force for me. Just as I try to accompany others through art, I am accompanied every day by the music and art of Jeff Buckley, David Bowie, The Cure, and Billie Eilish.
